How does cPanel web hosting work?

Once purchased, Full Web Builder stores the site on one of its servers and assigns a unique Domain Name System (DNS). This DNS serves as the address allowing all computers connected to the internet to find your website. The DNS is required in order for people to view the site.

 

By purchasing a website hosting package, you are leasing space on one of our servers. It is similar to the pace on a computer’s hard-drive, with cloud-based technology which allows your website files to be accessed from anywhere – with an internet connection.

 

What type of web hosting do I need?

Full Web Builder offers both Windows and Linux hosting solutions. Your needs will best determine your hosting platform. If you are unsure which platform you need, you can always call us. We are happy to help.

What can I use to build my website?

There are multiple approaches to building a website. Back in the day, everything was “hard-coded” with HTML. Then came CSS, and then database protocols like PHP, Python, and Perl. These days the majority of websites are built on “compilers” which are website building programs – programs which utilize user-friendly graphic interfaces to design elements and convert (compile) those designs into the appropriate coding pieces.

 

If you’re looking for a lot of versatility, user functional interaction, scalability, and rapid deployment of new content, you would best benefit from a compiler program. Full Web Builder’s hosting plans give you access to free, server-side applications you can use to build and perfect your website. How do I transfer my web pages to my server?

If you have built your website in an HTML editor (like Adobe’s Dreamweaver), you will need to upload your files via a File Transfer Protocol (FTP). Your hosting plan from Full Web Builder has a built-in FTP file manager which you can access in your Hosting Control Center. Or… For large file sizes and frequent file updates, you can make use of free developer programs like FileZilla, which will allow you to directly connect to your webserver via an FTP protocol, and both navigate and execute file changes much like working in Windows Explorer or Mac OS’s Finder.

 

If I already have a website, can I transfer it to my new Full Web Builder hosting account?

Moving your website to Full Web Builder is easy. If you have access to your existing files, you can simply upload them through your Hosting Control Center, or via an FTP program like FileZilla. If you do not have a current copy of your website, you should be able to request one from your current website hosting provider. If you have a WordPress site, we have website cloning tools to assist in the process. And, we are always happy to assist you by collecting and copying your website files from your old hosting account to your new Full Web Builder account for a nominal fee. Compared to the average time spent of 5+ hours by a novice website builder, we believe our $99.00 fee is both reasonable ad extremely market competitive. We’ll have your new server up and running in seconds, your website files backed up immediately, and your new web-server cloned from your old site as soon as possible (total time dependent upon your current total file size).
